Siemens Healthineers expands manufacturing footprint in India with new line of CT scannersBengaluru: Siemens Healthineers introduced the growth of its manufacturing facility in India. In its goal to speed up the expansion of the medical units house within the nation, the corporate has launched its new manufacturing line (plant) for computed tomography scanners at its Bengaluru facility.

The Indian Government has recognized medical units as a precedence sector for the flagship ‘Make in India‘ programme. With an goal to spice up home manufacturing, and appeal to giant funding within the Medical Device sector, the Department of Pharmaceuticals launched a Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme.

The new manufacturing line arrange by Siemens Healthineers on the Bengaluru manufacturing facility is permitted beneath the Radiology and Imaging Medical units phase of the PLI scheme,

Siemens Healthcare Private Limited is among the permitted candidates for the PLI scheme with a dedicated funding of ₹91.9 crore, for the manufacture of computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging.
