In an announcement to IANS, a Paytm Mall spokesperson mentioned that the info of “our users is completely safe” and “claims related to data leak in the year 2020 are completely false and unsubstantiated”.
“A faux dump uploaded on the platform haveibeenpwned.com seems to wrongly alert of an information breach on Firefox browser. We are getting in contact with Firefox and the platform to resolve the matter,” the corporate spokesperson added.
According to Firefox Monitor, a safety tracker by fashionable internet browser Mozilla, “Paytm was breached on August 30, 2020”.
“Once the breach was discovered and verified, it was added to our database on July 26, 2022,” it mentioned.
According to the report, the info compromised included cellphone numbers, e mail addresses, dates of beginning, genders, geographic areas, earnings ranges, names and purchases of the almost 3.4 million customers.
