Ruling CPI(M) legislator MM Mani on Wednesday mentioned he was withdrawing his controversial remarks towards UDF MLA KK Rema, which triggered an enormous political controversy within the state final week.

Mr Mani, a former minister, knowledgeable the state meeting that he didn’t intend to insult anybody and he already made it clear what he had really tried to convey by means of his feedback.

“As a Communist man, I would not have mentioned the word vidhi (fat) in my speech. I withdraw this remark,” he instructed the House.

The Marxist social gathering veteran withdrew his comment following a ruling by Speaker MB Rajesh.

Mr Mani, whereas collaborating within the House discussions on fund requests by the police final week, alluding to Ms Rema had mentioned a “mahati” (nice individual), who spoke towards Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and the LDF, turned a widow and that was her “fate”.

“We (Left front) are not responsible for that,” he mentioned.

The assertion invited the ire of the opposition which triggered an enormous protest by the Congress-UDF throughout the state demanding him to withdraw his remarks and apologise for a similar.
