Karnataka will have a look at the scope of establishing airports in 4 extra districts within the state to enhance the intra-state connectivity. The plan is to arrange airports which can be utilized for the operations of smaller aircrafts.

According to Murugesh Nirani, State Industries Minister, Karnataka, the method of figuring out appropriate land for establishing airports in districts like Hassan, Davanagere, Bagalkot and Raichur has began and is hopeful of finishing it within the subsequent one 12 months. These airports would require round 500 acres of land per airport, the Minister mentioned.

With the establishing of those airports, the minister mentioned that the state could have an airport each 100 km within the state. Karnataka presently has 8 airports. The goal is to attach all of the small airports and begin air operations underneath the UDAN scheme of the federal government, the Minister mentioned.

On Sunday, the Karnataka authorities additionally signed MoUs to supply heli tourism providers within the state. Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC), which signed the MoUs for a five-year interval, will assist the chopper service suppliers with authorities approvals, permits, certification and entry to authorities helipads. It may even assist the service suppliers in tie-ups with luxurious resorts and resorts. The MoUs are a part of the state’s heli tourism challenge.
