Jet Airways begins hiring pilots for its plane fleet; to renew industrial flight ops by September | Aviation News


Grounded for over three years, Jet Airways is all set to hit the skies once more. Hence taking a step forward, the airline on July 26 began the method of hiring pilots for Airbus’ A320 plane in addition to Boeing’s 737NG and 737Max planes. The airline — which acquired an air operator certificates from aviation regulator DGCA on May 20 — is but to put an order for plane with both European planemaker Airbus or American aerospace firm Boeing.

“Inviting pilots who are current and type-rated on the Airbus A320 or Boeing 737NG or MAX aircraft, to apply to join us in creating history as we prepare to relaunch India’s classiest airline,” Jet Airways’ tweet learn.

Currently, the airline has only one operational plane — which is a B737NG — in its fleet. The airline intends to advocate industrial operations within the present quarter ending September.

Financial misery pressured Jet Airways, which flew for greater than 20 years, to droop operations on April 17, 2019, and a consortium of lenders, led by the State Bank of India (SBI), filed an insolvency petition in June 2019 to recuperate excellent dues value over Rs 8,000 crore.

In October 2020, the airline’s Committee of Creditors (CoC) accredited the decision plan submitted by the consortium of the UK’s Kalrock Capital and UAE-based entrepreneur Murari Lal Jalan. In June 2021, the decision plan was accredited by the National Company Law Tribunal.
