The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has restored companies of bedrolls and linens in trains for the comfort of passengers, an official mentioned, as reported by PTI. The Indian Railways had introduced within the second week of March to renew the companies.
However, there have been challenges in resuming the service on all trains on account of closure of laundries throughout the pandemic interval, contractual service manpower to produce the bedrolls and linens to passengers on trains.
Apart from this, buying new linens from cotton industries with model title and brand can also be a hurdle for railways, the official mentioned, including that quick provide by industries has not been potential. Even after going through many challenges, ECoR labored day and evening to face the problem of making certain correct high quality of linens.
Restarting the availability of bedroll/linen service in trains from March, 21, 2022 within the Puri-Durg-Puri Express, East Coast Railway regularly improved with linen service in 30 pairs (60 trains) of trains by the third week of April, out of 67 pairs of trains originating from its jurisdiction.
The trains embody six pairs of each day trains, two pairs of bi-weekly, two pairs of tri-weekly, 15 pairs of weekly and 5 pairs of trains working 4 days and 5 days per week.
Seven pairs of trains from Bhubaneswar, 10 pairs from Puri, 4 pairs from Sambalpur and 9 pairs of trains from Visakhapatnam have now been included in linen and bedroll service.
The trains originating from Bhubaneswar embody Rajdhani Express, Hirakhand Express, Bhubaneswar-Junagarh Road Express, Bhubaneswar-Tirupati and Bhubaneswar-Pondicherry Express.
