Ghanaian boxer Shakul Sameed was suspended by the Commonwealth Games chiefs on day one in all sporting motion in Birmingham after failing a dope check.
The 23-year-old gentle heavyweight had been on account of face Mauritius’s Luc Jean Rosalba within the first spherical of his competitors.
“The Commonwealth Games Federation Anti-Doping and Medical Commission has confirmed that the sample of Shakul Samed, a boxer from Ghana, violated anti-doping rules for the 2022 Commonwealth Games,” learn a CGF assertion.
“His A pattern was discovered to include a prohibited substance (diuretic and masking agent — furosemide).
“He has therefore been suspended with immediate effect. He and the Ghana Commonwealth Games Association have been informed.”
Same, who competed on the Tokyo Olympics, can decide to have his B pattern examined earlier than any cost is issued.
