Cyclone Asani newest updates: AirAsia, IndiGo, SpiceJet cancels flight companies to Visakhapatnam | Aviation News

In the wake of cyclone Asani, the coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh have been issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall. Hence, because of this, all IndiGo flights (22 Arrivals plus 22 Departures) are canceled. Further, Air Asia canceled one flight from Bengaluru & one from Delhi.

“Decisions about evening flights are awaited,” stated Ok Srinivasa Rao, Airport Dir, Visakhapatnam. Air India is but to determine and convey about their flight operations.

As per the Visakhapatnam International Airport director, Srinivas on May 10 stated that IndiGo has canceled 23 flights, each arrivals, and departures, citing dangerous climate. “Four AirAsia flights also stood canceled due to bad weather at Vizag on May 10,” he added. At the Chennai airport, 10 flights together with these from Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Jaipur, and Mumbai had been canceled.

The IMD has predicted mild to average rainfall at just a few locations with heavy to very heavy rainfall at remoted locations over north coastal Andhra Pradesh and heavy rainfall at remoted locations is probably going over coastal Odisha and adjoining coastal West Bengal.
