Murlidhar Kewalramani, a retailer in Central Nagpur, said the demand has increased almost 25% for viral, anti-cough and cold medicines.

Bhupendra Malewar, who owns pharmacies at Neuron and Orange City hospitals, said there is a steady requirement of paracetamol, co-Amoxiclav, Montelukast, Dolo 650 and such medicines.

Hetal Thakkar, secretary, Nagpur Druggist and Chemist association, said vaccination had shielded a large chunk of the population from Covid and severe viral diseases. “The demand for drugs is marginal due to positive effect of the vaccine,” said Thakkar.
