CBSE to conduct offline board exams from Apr 26 | India News

NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education has stated that the Term 2 exams for Classes 10 and 12 will start from April 26. The exams will probably be held in offline mode and college students will probably be allotted examination facilities like earlier.
For the 2021-22 tutorial session, the board had determined to alter the evaluation system as a result of Covid-19 pandemic and divided it into two phrases. The Term 1 exams, which had been accomplished in November and December, had a number of selection questions whereas Term 2 could have subjective-type questions.
However, the CBSE is but to announce the outcomes of the Term 1 exams and hasn’t clearly said if the outcomes will probably be declared now or later.
ICSE and ISC outcomes had been declared on February 7.
Issuing a round on Wednesday, the board stated, “The board, after discussions with various stakeholders and taking into consideration the Covid-19 pandemic situation in the country, has decided to conduct the Term 2 examination in offline mode. The Term 2 theory examinations will commence from 26 April 2022.”
It said that the pattern of the question papers will be the same as that of samples on the board website.
“Students will appear for the examination at the allotted centers as done during the preceding years. The date-sheet for Classes 10 and 12 will be released soon and the same will be available on the board’s website. Messages/information spreading on social media may be considered only after verifying the facts available on the board’s website,” the circular added.
In Term 1, private school students gave exams at their own schools while government school students were allotted centres. A majority of the evaluation was conducted in the schools itself. For some Class 12 papers, the board asked schools to submit it to the CBSE.
Welcoming the announcement by the board, Jyoti Arora, principal of Mount Abu Public School, Rohiniand president of Sahodaya, a group of private schools, said they will be conducting orientations for teachers.
“Good time has been given to finish the syllabus and prepare for Term 2 examinations,” said Arora.
Even students were relieved after the notification but many were questioning when Term 1 exam results would be declared.
