Asia Cup | India wins comfort bronze


Defending champion India defeated China 2-0 to win a comfort bronze on the ladies’s Asia Cup hockey match right here on Friday.

The Indians left behind the frustration of their semifinal defeat to Korea and managed the proceedings within the first two quarters to enter half-time with a 2-0 lead.

Sharmila Devi gave India the lead in a Thirteenth-minute penalty nook sequence, scoring from a rebound after Gurjit Kaur’s preliminary flick was saved.

India saved up the stress with relentless raids within the second quarter and secured one other penalty nook within the nineteenth minute, transformed by Gurjit with an outstanding drag-flick.
